In 1965, Vladimir Pinigin graduated from the Ukrainian Institute of Printing with a specialization in graphics.
Throughout his career, Pinigin worked in book and easel graphics, poster art, design, scenography, and painting. Between 1985 and 1999, he focused on small-format graphic works created using etching, drypoint, intaglio, monotype, and related printmaking techniques.
He participated in the Lviv graphic artists’ lithography project “20 Years of the Magazine Creativity” in 1978.
Pinigin illustrated numerous literary works, particularly science fiction novels by authors including Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Clifford D. Simak, Pierre Boulle, Stanisław Lem, Alexander Belyaev, Karel Čapek, and Vasyl Berezhnyi. He also created illustrations for works by Alexander Pushkin, Valentin Kataev, William Saroyan, Ernest Hemingway, Jaroslav Hašek, Borys Necherda, and others.
