Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.

Born in 1927 in the village of Yatranivka, Kyiv Region, Ukraine. Studied at the N. S. Samokish Simferopol Art College under M. Shcheglov and S. Volodymyrov.

Worked primarily in easel painting.

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1956 and of the Crimean branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Golub’s artistic interests encompassed historical and genre painting, portraiture, landscape, and still life. He was particularly known as a master of narrative and thematic compositions.

Among his notable works are Behind Enemy Lines (1955–1957), In the Kerch Catacombs (1959–1960), At Noon (1960), and Girlfriends (1968).

Since 1954, participated in regional, republican, all-Union, and international art exhibitions.

His works are represented in art museums in Ukraine and Russia, as well as in private collections worldwide.

The artist passed away in 2006.
