Oleksandr Milovzorov was born in Kyiv in 1938. He graduated from the Kyiv School of Applied Arts in 1957 and the Mukhina Higher School of Art and Industry in Leningrad in 1968, where he studied under V. Markov and K. Mitrofanov.
Milovzorov works in painting, graphic art, and monumental-decorative art, including ceramics, glass, and metal. Throughout his career, he developed a distinctive artistic language across multiple disciplines, combining traditional techniques with experimental materials and symbolic forms.
A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 1988, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
Milovzorov founded Triptych Gallery in 1987 and Gallery-36 on Andriyivskyy Descent in 1996, where he served as Artistic Director until 2017.
Among his major public works are the decorative designs for the Tarasa Shevchenka and Respublikansky Stadion (now Olimpiiska) metro stations in Kyiv, interiors for the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and the National Children’s Library of Ukraine, and ceramic compositions including Soil Samples from Planet Earth (1978), Habitat (1980), and the triptych Saint Sophia of Kyiv (1995).
His works are held in art museums in Ukraine and abroad, as well as in private collections worldwide.
