Born in 1950, in Bohuslav, Kyiv Region, Ukrainian SSR. Graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1978, where she studied under T. Liashchuk.

Nadezhda Kovalenko was a Soviet and Ukrainian graphic artist, painter, and poster designer. Her work encompassed theatrical, social, and political posters, as well as landscapes and still lifes. She collaborated with major Kyiv publishing organizations, including Politizdat of Ukraine, Agitplakat, and Kinoreklama.

In 1983, received Second Prize in the Republican Agitplakat Competition in Kyiv.

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1984.

Kovalenko is particularly known for her poster art, which addressed environmental, cultural, and social themes. Among her notable works are Green Spaces Will Preserve the Earth (1978), Pass on to Future Generations What Was Inherited from Our Ancestors (1989), and a series of theatrical posters created for the Kyiv Young Spectator’s Theatre (1982–1984). She also produced the circus poster series Circus on Stage (1987–1988).

She lived and worked in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she remained active as an artist until her passing on February 26, 2007.

Since 1978, participated in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions.
