Born in 1965 in Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan Region, USSR.
Marina Shkarupa is a contemporary Ukrainian painter whose artistic practice is centered on conceptual art, primarily working in oil on canvas. Through expressive figurative compositions and symbolic imagery, she explores the human experience, collective memory, and the search for new realities.
Shkarupa creates layered and emotionally resonant paintings that invite viewers to engage with contemporary social, cultural, and environmental challenges.
Her works are held in museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art and The Abu Dhabi Art Hub, as well as in private collections worldwide.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and internationally, establishing an active presence in contemporary art and cultural exchange.
