Aleks Kontr was born in Vladivostok, the capital of the Russian Far East. While he studied Japanese philology and literature at Far East Government University, he was granted permission to attend art classes at the Institute of Art.

After moving to the United States, he began painting a series titled “Fusion in Style”, marking a shift toward his personal artistic direction.

Aleks Kontr’s artworks are fascinated with a smart, provocative, and attractive erotic world. Viewers get impressions from his imagery in the style of erotic surrealism. Spectators are striking in their lateral thinking and perception of the beauty of modern women and men.

Aleks Kontr is an artist who manages to dissect the inner world of thoughts and desires, sometimes “dark”, of modern man. Everything flows and changes — but feelings, emotions, and the inner “EGO” remain unchanged for millions of years. It is the same — the possession and contemplation of the beauty of Erotica.

His artworks look like a manifesto. Their composition is in perpetual motion. They are remembered and recognized in the context of exhibitions and interiors. The joy of recognition is always combined with surprise from new discoveries and ideas brought by each new work.

The New York Magazine asked him in an interview:
“Don’t you think it is an overdose of Attractive Erotic World in your artworks?”
His answer was: “Nudity Save the World!”
