Restrictions

“Restrictions” is constructed from tightly interwoven forms that create a powerful sensation of pressure, confinement, and resistance. Dark structural lines seem to limit the movement of the brighter colors beneath and around them, while diagonal elements generate tension throughout the composition. The painting suggests both external boundaries and the invisible limitations people experience within themselves. Yet the persistent energy of color implies an equally strong impulse toward movement, freedom, and release.
